Twitter Compatible API for Tweetie
Tweetie 2 for iPhone has the capability of hitting a custom API endpoint, which means it can grab and display items from other apps (such as tumblr). If there was a twitter compatible API endpoint for laterstars, you could view your inbox links in tweetie 2 on your iPhone.

background transition
The background transition is a little rough... It would be cleaner if the background had a smoother transition from texture to solid brown color.

UI: Change website background picture
I love laterstars but I'm not a fan of it's UI. Starting with that 'wood?' brown background, it's half done and I find it very ugly. Maybe something more simple and subtle. I tried to tweak it and came up with this:
Anyways I really love laterstars and I really hope you improve the UI

Hide tweet's text when trying to operate on a favorite
I like that I can click a user's avatar to see the tweet that a link came from. That context helps. But I often want to archive or delete a tweet immediately thereafter. I think that clicking anywhere outside of the tweet text itself should close the tweet.

Allow marking faves private and setting for default public/private on new faves
Now that we can see the fave-streams (new term!) of other users, it would be great to be able to mark specific faves as private and to have a setting to control whether faves are public or private by default.

you can now make your entire account private, similar to twitter. there may be more fine-grained options in the future, but we’re starting with this.

multiple URL's in a tweet
for example this tweet has multiple link's - http://is.gd/9IQjf - it would be cool if the two link's were split into two items, maybe a list tree type split to indicate that both the links are coming from the one tweet. I find myself seeing a lot of tweets where they have multiple links and I'd like to save them all.

i’m putting this is started because it already extracts and lists multiple links from single tweets, but I do want to have some sort of way to indicate they’re from the same tweet… still working on it.

Mentioning a link to @liwt adds it to your faves; Why? => Ability to faves URL via third party apps
Mentioning a link to @liwt should add included URLs to your faves; Why? Would open up the possibility to faves URL via third party apps like RSS readers (Reeder.app) and others. You could just send a tweet like: "@liwt www.heise.de" or tweet something like this "Check out this cool link: www.heise.de /cc @liwt"

aggregation when you fave the same link multiple times
sometimes multiple people link to the same final url with different tweets, so i fave them all only to realize they were all to the same link. the listing should have the one link with all the tweets you faved to it.

Option to ignore faved tweets with twitlonger links.
Sometimes people tweet using twitlonger to extend the 140 char limit. If I mark one of this tweets as favorite laterstars will capture it when it's actually just a longer tweet and not a link to a webpage.

I haven’t run into this problem myself yet, but it’s worth looking into.

Handle New York Times links better
For some reason, every NYTimes link takes me to a login page. I can skip this login page if I go to the shortlink directly (ex: http://nyti.ms/dlu1l5). But, if LS picks up a tweet with this link, I get the login page instead w/o a way to skip it.

allow separator dates to be collapsable
basically allow the date separators to be collapsable so that if the page has a high number of links the user can collapse each date.
also by default it would be cool if the older dates were already collapsed and only showed how many new links were available while the current date is fully expanded for the users viewing.

more informative website
describe what your service is, what it does and how it works on the homepage, BEFORE suggesting people sign into their twitter account and follow you. At least a More Info link.
The teeny-weeny "read our blog" still forces me to dig for the info.

group by lists (twitter or external)
When going through my faves, I usually consume them by topic, I like to stay on science or rails or <insert topic here>, to help do this it would be useful to have the source of the fave associated with the twitter list, or google reader tag I have already organised it with. The cleanest way I can think of is extending the tagging (labels) to be name-spaced for the external grouping.
I do have to say I LOVE this site! its SOOOO useful!!

New Favorite (Heart) Bookmarklet
Hi,
I'd like to have a bookmarklet that will favorite (heart) the current page to the laterstars favorites tab. Currently when I 'm using the oldest article bookmarklet, I have to go back to the inbox and find the links that I want to favorite (heart).
I hope that make sense.
